The Major Client Manager (MCM) contributes to the operations in a defined geographic area including permanent offices and various project field offices and focuses on the identification , capture, and execution of work for key clients. Infrastructure US comprises a team of engineers and technicians in the fields of civil (highways, rail, transit and aviation disciplines), structural (bridges and tunnels), geotechnical, electrical and mechanical engineering, and includes design, condition inspection, and construction management/construction inspection staff. The MCM is also accountable for refining business strategy, growth, profit and loss performance, talent management, and oversight of the operations including directing and managing large/complex projects. The MCM must be an effective “seller/doer”, able to balance operational management, business development, and project management responsibilities. The MCM must also be a creative and innovative leader, able to communicate a vision and inspire others and effectively mentor and develop individual and team talent. Willingness to travel to the various offices and to client or project site locations is expected. The MCM will work with business and technical leadership to continue the legacy of technical and management excellence while growing a successful and sustainable business practice that fosters a challenging and fun workplace. **Operational Responsibilities:** + Provide strategic and operational direction: + Collaborate with the Regional and Area Managers to develop annual strategic initiatives. + Work with the relevant Business Development Manager/Team to develop a business plan aligned with the objectives of the Area and the Region. + Define operational and financial goals overall and for individual direct reports. + Establish clear plan to achieve goals by identifying and prioritizing clients and prospects. + Implement operational policies and procedures. + Ensure policies and objectives are understood and applied effectively. + Review, evaluate and approve requests including contracts, appropriations, and expenditure within authority, escalate others as appropriate. + Manage P&L and profitable growth of the business: + Work with the Project Managers to optimize billing cycle and cash flow. + Collaborate with the relevant Business Development Manager/Team to implement a growth agenda and be accountable for commercial success. + Measure financial success against established objectives and ensure corrective action as needed. + Drive growth through leveraging key client opportunities. + Identify, develop and maintain key accounts. + Enhance Parsons’ profile and reach across the industry through participation in professional and industry organizations and attending related events. + Maintain strong relations with local and regional clients. + Support contractor relationships regarding APD prospects and pursuits. + Drive execution excellence: + Implement Safety policies and training. + Guide and oversee the preparation of proposals and client presentations for pursuits. + Win and manage complex civil and structural projects aligned with regional strategy. + Implement quality policies and procedures and pursue continuous improvement through innovation and creative thinking. + Establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relationships with all employees, clients and stakeholders. + Work with the Technical Organization leaders to staff projects for success. + Complete project reviews in accordance with company policies. + Ensure that accurate business reports are prepared as scheduled. + Create a high-performance culture: + Develop, recruit and retain top industry talent. + Drive collaborative behavior with other offices, Areas and Corporate Executives. + Regularly appraise management team including compensation changes as appropriate. + Recommend compensation changes for regional staff. + Promote learning opportunities for the staff. + Maintain an organizational structure that is streamlined, efficient and effective. **Shared Business Unit responsibilities:** + Talent Management - Identify and develop high potential talent. + Operations - Ensure effective project execution and reporting. + Business Development – Collaborate with the relevant Business Development Manager/Team to ensure comprehensive marketing of Parsons’ capabilities, portfolio of services and optimization of clients and opportunities. **Key leadership capabilities:** + Drives growth while managing efficiency in short and long term. + Manages large, diverse teams and builds consensus between technical disciplines. + Serves as a strong leader, fostering a culture of accountability, rewards, and consequences. + Achieves maximum productivity by implementing best practices for utilizing communication technology, automation, and various software applications. + Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to senior management and clients. + Possesses experience managing/overseeing large ($100MM+ construction value) rail, systems, bridge or highway projects. + Supports the overall success of the company by being a strong collaborator with other business units and geographies + Consistently exercises and demonstrates a sound Business Acumen. + Possesses a 4-year degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering and 20+ years of diverse experience. Professional registration or certification in field of expertise and active membership in a professional society is also required. **Performance metrics:** + Revenue and margin growth aligned with business plan + Sales growth (GPS, Client Contact) + Cash flow & billing cycle performance + Revenue and profit margin (GPP, NOI, and Revenue) + Portfolio / key account performance + Personnel retention and hiring **Minimum Clearance Required to Start:** Not Applicable/None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
