Summary\:

 

The Major Gift Officer for the College of Science and Technology (CST), reporting to the Assistant Dean for the College is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major donor prospects ($50,000 ) to the College. 

The Major Gift Officer will secure funds for CST by managing a portfolio of assigned donors, representing CST and Temple University at large, and establishing connections between donors’ philanthropic interests and the priorities of the College of Science and Technology and Temple.   Performs other duties as assigned.Click here to learn more about the benefits of working at Temple University.

 

Required Education & Experience\:

 

Bachelor’s degree required and at least five years related experience, preferably in a higher education setting. Previous experience in account management and business to business sales. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

·       Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or assignments simultaneously.

·       Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and a high motivation to achieve within an ambitious result driven environment.

·       Outstanding leadership skills.

·       Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate and work with high wealth individuals.

·       Must be a highly energetic, organized, flexible and enthusiastic professional with a track record of closing major gifts.

·       Ability to develop and sustain collaborative and supportive relationships with internal and external constituencies.

·       Must maintain a positive and constructive attitude.

·       Ability to influence, lead, and inspire groups of individuals around shared goals and objectives.

·       Understanding of the mission of a complex, urban university

·       and ability to persuasively represent its goals to multiple constituents.

·       Must be comfortable working autonomously, achieving performance-related metric goals, building donor relationships, and working collaboratively and strategically with colleagues.

·       Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. *Demonstrated comfort interacting with a diverse group of individuals both inside and outside of the university.

·       Must possess a strong knowledge of the principles, ethics and practices of successful fund raising.

·       Must be able to travel and work evening/weekend hours.

·       Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, strategic-thinking skills, and intellectual curiosity.

·       Willingness to take initiative and learn.
