Major Gifts Officer
Description Essential Functions: + Collaborate with leadership team members, such as the Chief Development Officer (CDO), Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and volunteer campaign leaders, to establish and execute a strategic framework for major gift fundraising. + Design and implement donor cultivation and solicitation strategies for individuals across all giving levels, in collaboration with the CDO. This includes organizing and maintaining a pipeline of campaign prospects. + Develop and manage a major donor tracking system to be utilized by organization staff and branch executives. + Conduct donor research, prioritize prospects, and prepare written materials such as donor profiles, briefing memos, proposals, and tailored communications. + Partner with the CDO to guide, coach, and provide support to staff and volunteers involved in solicitation efforts. + Create and execute strategies for donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship to ensure ongoing engagement. + Assist in planning and implementing cultivation and recognition events specifically tied to the campaign. + Track campaign progress and manage donor engagement milestones within relevant donor management systems. Provide regular campaign updates and numerical insights to stakeholders such as the Board of Directors. + Continue to enhance campaign reporting tools as needed to meet organizational goals. + Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of making leadership gifts by developing and implementing tailored long-term cultivation plans. + Maintain and update the campaign's strategic timetable and associated benchmarks to ensure timely progress. + Be flexible to accommodate occasional evening or weekend responsibilities as required. + Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Development Officer. Requirements Skills and Requirements: + Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong writing skills. + Soft Skills: Demonstrates approachability, friendliness, and a collaborative team-oriented attitude. + Experience: Minimum of five years of professional fundraising experience, including expertise in capital campaigns and event planning. + Education: A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
