The Mammographic Technologist will utilize their knowledge of screening and diagnostic mammography and be able to perform stereotactic biopsies in addition to localizations.  He/she must relate well to others and be in compliance with MQSA standards.

Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                  

Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation.                                                         Responsible to the safe handling of equipment.                                                                            Instructs and prepares patients for breast procedures                                                                                Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure                                                                                  Makes special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures such as mammographies, needle localizations, and stereotactic biopsies.                                           Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.                                                                                                               Employs correct film labeling and lead markers and evaluates images for proper diagnostic quality.                                                                                                                                               

Requirements:    

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of x-ray training in a certified school NYS x-ray license, ARRT and mammography registry Knowledge of Epic and Magview At least 2 years mammography experience.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

The pay for this position ranges from $42.56 – 56.00 per hour

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
