Job SummaryWorks independently to perform digital screening and diagnostic mammography imaging based on hospital policies and/or practice standards, under the supervision of the interpreting physician. Must demonstrate an understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Must maintain accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and image evaluation while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards. Must understand the federal regulations governing mammography practice in order to meet the standards for the performance of breast imaging. Must have knowledge of the quality assurance policies and quality control testing for mammography within federal regulation guidelines.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum Education: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology

Substitutable Education & Experience: None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT);
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography (Must have and maintain current biennium ARRT continuing education credits);
Must have received/applied for South Carolina state license with SCRQSA;
Must possess and maintain current CPR certification.
Required Training: Must have personal computer skills and be able to perform required functions in current hospital computer system and PACS.
