Mammography Technologist I

Job Description:

Job Summary

Provides health care services applying X-ray energy to assist in the screening of breast disease. Performs breast imaging, bone densitometry, computer processing, and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions to provide appropriate patient care, ensuring successful completion of the exam or procedure.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFoster a collaborative and professional working environment with coworkers and other departments.Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of department efficiency.Plan and manage patient flow and staff schedules to optimize operations.Produce high-quality diagnostic images and ensure accurate documentation of images.Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures.Verify patient information, including medical records and orders, before exams.Assist radiologists and providers during exams and procedures as needed.Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic health record.QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited imaging sciences program.Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in radiologic technology.Licensure & Certifications:ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License.BLSMust obtain Post-primary Registry in Mammography (M) within one year.BenefitsBereavement Leave (includes pets)PTO Sell Back ProgramCompassionate Leave Sharing Program (PTO Donation)Employee Support Fund, for employees in need of emergency financial support
