Under the
supervision of the Breast Imaging Manager and Medical Director, the Mammography
Technologist Trainee will observe and learn how to perform diagnostic
mammographic imaging, assist with quality control, and support procedures like
stereotactic biopsies. They will gain hands-on experience with digital and DBT
imaging while ensuring patient education, preparation, and confidentiality. The
trainee will also learn proper sterile techniques, assist radiologists as
needed, and rotate across UCLA Health radiology locations. Candidates must be
current or recent graduates of a Radiologic Technology Training program and
demonstrate a willingness to develop essential technical and patient care
skills.
Salary Range:
$38.05 Hourly
Qualifications
+ BCLS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross- required
+ Current or Recent graduate from a Radiologic Technology program - required
+ Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately
+ Excellent interpersonal skills effectively and diplomatically with patients, visitors, hospital staff, physicians, and other outside offices both in person and over the phone
+ Knowledge of medical terminology, with ability to distinguish between- types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses
+ Ability to adapt to advancement and changing technology
+ Ability to identify and recognize contraindications for exams (Radiology Only)
+ Ability to respond efficiently to expressed needs of referring services, physicians and patients
+ Skill in employing independent decision making while performing various job functions
+ Telephone manners and skills to handle heavy telephone lines with courtesy and tact
+ Understand the requirements of the EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act)
