Summary About the Position: Serves as a Management and Programs Assistant for the Operations Division of St. Paul District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Responsibilities The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Deputy Chief of Operations to coordinate: Drug Testing Coordinator for the St. Paul District. Resource Management activities (budget, manpower, management analysis). Human Resources activities (personnel administration, staffing, position management and classification, training, awards). Internal Controls (correspondence, records/forms/reports management, etc.). Experience Requirements: GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting TWO OF THE FOLLOWING: 1) Evaluate financial information to assess overall financial performance of an organization; 2) assist in the execution of policies as they pertain to administrative management functions ; 3) provide advice on recruitment and/or staffing issues; 4) execute a training program and/or prepare an operations training budget; 5) oversee the coordination of a drug testing program; and 6) implement administrative policies and/or procedures to enhance support service functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). GS-08 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting THREE OF THE FOLLOWING: 1) Evaluate financial information to assess overall financial performance of an organization; 2) assist in the execution of policies as they pertain to administrative management functions ; 3) provide advice on recruitment and/or staffing issues; 4) execute a training program and/or prepare an operations training budget; 5) oversee the coordination of a drug testing program; and 6) implement administrative policies and/or procedures to enhance support service functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting FOUR OF THE FOLLOWING: 1) Evaluate financial information to assess overall financial performance of an organization; 2) assist in the execution of policies as they pertain to administrative management functions ; 3) provide advice on recruitment and/or staffing issues; 4) execute a training program and/or prepare an operations training budget; 5) oversee the coordination of a drug testing program; and 6) implement administrative policies and/or procedures to enhance support service functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS). For GS-07: 52 weeks at the next lower grade level GS-06. For GS-08: 52 weeks at the next lower grade level GS-07. For GS-09: 52 weeks at the next lower grade level GS-08. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
