Management Intern

The Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College (MLFTC) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for a Management Intern position with the Preparing Educators for Arizona’s Indian Communities (PEAIC) program.

Through a grant awarded to the MLFTC, PEAIC prepares Indigenous educators across Arizona by providing them with access to high-quality teacher preparation programs and induction support in their first years of teaching. 

Under general supervision, the Management Intern will provide administrative support to the PEAIC project, assisting with general administration projects, research and analysis, and technical planning. The person in this position needs to be able to collaborate with PEAIC stakeholders, advocate professionally for Indigenous educators in the field of education, including plan, organize, and coordinate activities toward their professional development. 

This grant award is subject to the provisions of section 7(b) of the Indian Self- Determination and Education Assistance Act (Pub. L. 93–638), granting preferences and opportunities for training and employment to American Indians, defined as a member of any federally recognized tribe.

This position is primarily based on the Tempe campus with the opportunity to work remotely; however, you may occasionally be required to travel to off-campus events,  driving your own vehicle, to perform work.

Part-TimeASU conducts pre-employment screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check, verification of work history, academic credentials, licenses, and certifications. Employment is contingent upon successful passing of the background check.OpenThis position may be performed remotely from anywhere in the state of Arizona.Duties are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 40 pounds.Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities. Duties may include performance in the field on tribal lands, at K-12 sites, community colleges, and other partner organizations. Occasional travel to Arizona tribal communities and other locations may be required.  

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

This is a grant funded position. Continuation is contingent on future grant funding.
