Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5664000 and is part of the PA Training Center, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. Responsibilities As a MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-09, you will plan, organize, and oversee the full complement of administrative and technical support activities. Manage the Garrison Training Center (GTC) calendars and appointment/meeting schedules. Serve as the Garrison Training Center (GTC) point of contact and liaison for all personnel actions within the Garrison Training Center (GTC) which requires review/approval from the Base Operations Manager. Serve as the Records Management Coordinator for the Base Operations Manager. Monitor and maintain the manpower authorization and personnel manning for the Garrison Training Center. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-Bargaining Position AOC A: NG employees at the PA Training Center Supervisor for this position is John Mance. *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Tier 1 Security Clearance. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training in any position that required compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. Discontinued service retirement annuitants (i.e., retired under section 8336(d)(1) or 8414(b)(1)(A) of title 5 United States Code) appointed to the Department of Defense may elect to be subject to retirement provisions of the new appointment as appropriate.
