Job Description

Manager - Accounts Payable Analysis  

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to lead our procurement and vendor management accounting functions. As the Manager, Accounts Payable Analysis, you will play a key role in collaborating with the procurement and vendor management teams to ensure all activities related to the procurement of goods and services are accurately recorded and the results are analyzed to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.  

 

Responsibilities: 

Collaborate effectively with the Procurement, Accounts Payable processing, and Vendor Management teams to identify root causes and resolve issues. Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure smooth operations. 

Participate in period close process, prepare and analyze accounts payable reports. Provide commentary where needed. 

Review and approve journal entries, run account analysis and period close exception reports 

Review periodic account reconciliations, along with detailed review and monitoring of items categorized as class Rs 

Supervise and mentor Accounts Payable accounting team. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and accuracy. 

Identify and address financial risks related to accounts payable function.  

Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred. 

3. 5+ years of experience in general accounting with a focus on Accounts Payable activities or accounts payable with responsibility for analytical activities along with invoice processing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. 

Strong understanding of procurement processes and vendor management. 

Experience working in a retail or automotive industry is a plus. 

Experience using Oracle or similar ERP.  

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
