**About this job**
The **Technology Manager** at CarMax is a people leader who is passionate about technology and how it enables a growing organization. **What you will do – Essential Responsibilities**
+ Work with stakeholders to assist with roadmaps.
+ Develop people through effective communication and ongoing feedback
+ Participate in cost management/budgeting and production support as needed
+ Shape an inclusive culture to attract strong talent while thriving in innovation, continuous improvement, collaborative teamwork, and delivery of technology solutions
+ Communicate effectively at and above their level, ensuring alignment and support for team objectives with stakeholders and Senior Leadership
+ Lead a team of remote and hybrid Engineers with varying levels of experience in a product focused organization to adapt to a changing landscape
+ Work through others to deliver resilient and scalable technology solutions that solve for complex business problems
**Purpose of the role**
The Technology Manager’s primary responsibility is to partner with their business areas and provide technology solutions and services that help deliver CarMax’s strategic mission and plans. This Manager will lead a team of talented engineers enabling CarMax's technology journey. You will be results-oriented, data-driven, and have a proven record of accomplishment influencing outcomes without direct decision-making authority. The Manager will be comfortable guiding teams and setting performance standards and motivating associates to perform quality work. The Manager, in partnership with their leader, is responsible for identifying high performing talent, gaps in talent, and developing associates to close the gaps.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
+ Education and Experience **-** BS/BA degree required with preference for a Technology related field of study (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
+ 5+ years of experience in Information Technology with 5+ years of application systems development and implementation
+ 3+ years’ experience managing direct reports
+ 3+ years of experience required leading software projects leveraging Agile practices
+ Experience with Digital Marketing Platforms
+ Experience with various marketing campaign approaches and KPI
+ Experience with marketing cloud reporting
+ Experience with managing dynamic content with marketing cloud
+ Experience with API integration and data feed with marketing cloud
+ Experience working on different integration patterns with Enterprise Systems (Customer Data, etc)
+ Understand Salesforce marketing cloud architecture and best practices (nice to have)
Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA CarMax Technology Innovation Center or the Dallas, TX Technology Hub and have a Hybrid work arrangement.
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
