Purpose of RoleReporting to the Director, Product Development, the Technical Designer Manager, will be responsible for co-lead APAC Technical Design team and supporting the product development to implement Under Armour Development Strategy for the Asia-Pacific region. This role will implement robust technical standards, systems and processes and decisions with a high-level of expertise and knowledge.
Your Impact Contributes and leads a team of developers responsible for the development of one or more product categories from design concept to production garment Communicate with offshore vendors on all technical issues and a stronger understanding of fit and aesthetic Manages workload and build/reviews technical package for one or more category. Collaborates with cross functional team to meet calendar deliverables Manage day-to-day operations, overseeing the APAC Technical Design Team and monitoring product development timelines and quality standards Managing product documentation, including technical specifications, vendor manuals and other system training materials. Able to identify fit issues, perform fit adjustments and communicate changes to improve fit and function Owns cross functional meeting communication for the development team. Must be able to effectively problem solve design, costing, quality and delivery issues Ability to dynamically deliver product presentations related to fit and construction Qualifications Must have leadership experience, including managerial experience Expertise building Development & Production Tech Packs Must have experience managing a product category Must have superior written and verbal communication skills; must be able to lead product presentations in a clear, concise, and engaging manneEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year Fashion Design program Minimum of 8 years in technical design or product development experienceOTHER REQUIREMENTS:
