Manager, Architecture & Design

Purpose of the Job:

The Manager, A&D leads & owns nationally both Franchise Development Pipeline Execution (for A&D related processes) and Strategic Framework development to enable team & franchise pipeline productivity while ensuring key processes and vendor performance are operating effectively. The Manager, A&D also owns both the strategic framework for prototype plans (matching business needs and growth targets) and the technical evolution of KFC prototype plan sets (architecture and engineering) ensuring continual improvements, adherence to brand standards, and driving Build Smarter principles that deliver efficiencies and lead to a reduction of new build and remodel investment costs.

What You'll Be Cooking Up:

A&D Franchise Development Execution – owns the delivery (A&D related) of US system pipeline progress for New Builds & Remodels. Includes building strategic frameworks to drive productivity, identifying and developing solutions that address bottlenecks/barriers, strategic partnership to KFCC Regional Franchise Development Team to accelerate pipeline. Prototype Plan Development – owns prototype strategy and planning, ongoing prototype change management process, and annual prototype plan releases. Build Smarter cost savings process – key resource & thought leader, collaborates effectively with KFC Construction Team, external consultants, Franchisees, and FZ contractors. National Development Capability Cultivation – identifies, develops and implements holistic strategic solutions to solve franchise system development capability gaps.  Owns vendor performance management and relationships post implementation. Current example is National Architectural Consultants.

The Ingredients You’ll Need:

Required Education/Certifications – Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and registered architect with current certification. 

Masters preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a corporate environment managing architecture and design projects. Past experience of 3+ working in a private practice architecture firm is highly desirable. Portfolio of past projects may be required for the role. Multi-unit Restaurant design, Retail design, hospitality in a consultancy or a corporate organization including management of construction documents. CAD drafting using AutoCAD. Adobe Creative Suite. Google Sketch Up or other 3D renderings program skills is preferred. Design Project management experience. Managing external architectural and/or design consultants. Current working knowledge of multidisciplinary business and health codes, ADA, and other compliance issues.
