ROLE SUMMARY:  
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Benefits Manager to oversee systems and vendor management for Health and Welfare benefits. This role will manage benefits for over a thousand plus participants, including active employees and retirees, across multiple benefit plans with multiple vendors. The Specialist will handle service issues, ensure compliance, and work closely with various teams to enhance benefits administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: 

Assists in handling systems and vendor management related to Health and Welfare benefits for: 20,000+ participants comprised of active eligible employees, and retirees in 180+ benefit plans/strategies through 10+ vendors.Ensures all required processes, system feeds, business transactions, and reporting are properly executed in a timely manner including vendors and payroll feeds.Handles external vendors and responsible for the management of data relayed to vendors as well as process outcome. Review of metrics for KPIs and quality control.Address service issues; ensuring root cause analysis and remediation.Coordinates projects/initiatives with internal constituents as well as vendors.Conducts regular audits for benefits enrollment compliance per plan rules.Conducts various monthly and annual reporting’s/filings.Partners with Health and Welfare, as well as Legal and Labor Relations team relating to implementation of new benefit offerings and/or policy updates.SOX, ACA, and HIPAA compliance administration.Summary Plan Description (SPD) management.Support and SME: Acts as the critical issue point for internal and external customers including business unit management to resolve process or customer issues.Support Annual Enrollment and benefits management, including but not limited to: medical, dental, life, AD&D, Legal plans, Health Savings accounts (HSA,FSA, Limited FSA, & Dependent Care Accounts), Commuter Benefits, Short and Long-Term Disability plans, Vacation Buy and Sell, Accident, Critical Illness, etc.Provides and demonstrates commitment and seeks solutions towards continuous improvement and pro-activeness to challenge existing practices and inspire changes for process efficiencies. Owns process improvement efforts, improve efficiencies, and successfully execute new processes.Supports Tier I and Tier II HR support teams on issue resolution; process design and controls. Rolls out and trains teams on new initiatives, processes, and system enhancements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a large complex organization with multiple health and welfare benefit plans and vendors. Experience with employer self-insured and fully insured health and welfare plans.Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.Strong computer aptitude, including all Microsoft Office applications, Project Planning software and web-enabled Human Resource information systems (Human Resource eligibility and enrollment systems) and various web-based tools. Understanding of processes, data relationships, and system feeds and impacts.High level of service mentality. Highly focused on results and providing a structured, systematic approach to delivering business solutions.Experience with Union environment under Collective Bargaining Agreements preferred.Other duties as assigned.
