This position is responsible for being the liaison between Merchandising and IT to ensure all merchandising systems are meeting the evolving needs of the business. This includes working cross-functionally to gather business requirements and relaying those requirements to IT for further evaluation and prioritization. This position will also be responsible for researching and recommending emerging technologies to improve ways of working within the merchandising organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in merchandising systems management, administration and governance. This position ensures that all merchandising systems are efficient, accurate, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)Act as the business partner to IT for implementing merchandising systems and tools including but not limited to: Space Planning (CKB, Space Automation Pro, Data Manager), Floor Planning (ACAD, Symphony SPHQ), Pricing & Analytics, TIBCO, Maps, Workfront, SAP, PowerBI, Alteryx, Snowflake, and Business Objects.
2. Act as a conduit of collaboration between business units, IT, and procurement teams.
3. Own processes for intaking new Merchandising system requests, prioritizing requests, and working with IT partners to include prioritized requests as part of their annual budgeting / planning process.
4. Assist IT and Procurement teams in developing Business Requirements Documentation (BRDs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs).
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address merchandising system needs and improvements.
6. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within merchandising systems.
7. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise in conjunction with IT.
8. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance merchandising systems and ways of working.
9. Accountable for Merchandise Systems team member training and onboarding. Develop training programs that support new hires as well as the continued development of existing team members.
10. Act as business lead on cross-functional systems projects to ensure all goals are met. Meeting with stakeholders to discuss program status and goals. Meet with Business Partners, stakeholders, Project Managers, and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, identify processes, set goals, and lead prioritization.
11. Hold teams accountable to project deadlines to support on time delivery and monitor execution compliance to identify process and training opportunities. Communicate high level results to all levels of leadership.
12. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with large variety of internal team members at all levels to fully understand system processes, challenges, and anticipate needs.
6+ years combined experience in merchandising systems, systems management, program management, or related experience. Prefer experience in merchandising systems including, Space Planning, Floor Planning, Pricing, CKB, SKU Management, Global Sourcing, MAPs, PowerBI, Alteryx, Snowflake as well as Business Objects and SAP.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, systems, or related field; Master’s degree in business administration or related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
