Job Description:

The Manager of Capital Assets will be responsible for driving standardized processes across fixed, leased, and capital asset accounting in a complex and evolving environment.  They will help to meet the company’s financial reporting goals for timeliness and accuracy, plus contribute to the continuous process improvement environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

Review and approve fixed asset and capital project accounting and monthly and quarterly reporting, including acquisitions, depreciation, impairment and disposalsAssist in the preparation of financial statement notes, ensuring compliance with reporting requirementsManage the fixed asset register and review reconciliations between the G/L and sub-ledgerProvide guidance on capitalization policiesDrive standardized processes across fixed, leased and capital assets accountingManage and coordinate exception resolution with internal and external stakeholdersDesign, implement and monitor processes and controls to address identified areas for improvementLeads staff in the execution of their duties including hiring, training and development, performance coaching and creating an engaging environmentLiaise with external auditors during the quarterly review and annual audit processOther duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications)

A professional accounting designation and 7-10 years’ experience in the complete financial process including the knowledge of asset and lease accounting.  Workday or cloud-based experience preferred.  Prior management or supervisory experience is preferred.

Compensation Details:

69,500.00 - 99,300.00 - 129,100.00 CAD plus 10% bonus
