What you will be doing
The Manager, Category & Innovation will be responsible for achieving Own Brands category sales, profit, and share plans. Manager, Category & Innovation will support the management of Own Brands category management, vendor management and innovation project management to deliver top and bottom-line growth.
This position can be located in any of the following locations: Pleasanton, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Plano, TX, Boise, ID.
Main responsibilities
Vendor Management
Manage the day-to-day relationship with vendors and self-manufacturing plants. Schedule and prepare leadership top to top with key vendors evaluating key metrics to develop growth plans. Lead the management of liabilities & support accruals with vendors, develop sales driving promotions and plans to invest these dollars in the right divisions and programs to deliver the highest ROI. Partner with key vendors to provide key categories and shopper insights for the health and growth of top categories. Work with vendors to ensure they meet service level performance metrics and influence supplier's manufacturing processes, technology decisions and customer service policies in ways that are mutually beneficial for both organizations. Inspire Innovation creativity and drive the creation of an "Innovation Culture" throughout Own Brands and Company Assemble ideas from everywhere in the organization and evaluate the best opportunities. Identify and lead big category innovation from idea/concept to shelf. Stay current on all new categories and shopper trends in categories of responsibilities utilizing internal and syndicated data sources.The salary range is $95,000.00 to $125,000.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Marketing, Economics, or Finance 5+ years' experience selling / influencing decision makers 5+ years of product innovation management, brand management and/or category management experience in a CPG or retail company Expert knowledge of Own Brands' operations and business Expert analytical skills: category management analytics, PC skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) Proven experience utilizing internal or syndicated financial and consumer insights data to build plans and drive performance metrics Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across the business Expert organization, prioritization, and project management skills, with the ability to develop detailed timelines and ensure all milestones are delivered by due dates Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to understand and communicate techniques involved in training, merchandising and marketing Own Brands items Strong presentation skills with ability to present to senior leaders both internally and externally Strong customer service focus and team building skills Travel: 20%
