CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                       

1. Ensures an accurate inventory and provides efficient distribution of items in Central Supply to all hospital units. 

2. Develops and maintains clinical relationships with key clinical leaders in regard to supply related initiative and inventory management.

3. Maintains an environment of collaboration between clinical and business areas.

4. Ensures effective operations of the department through system development, process improvement, and coordination with customer departments.

5. Creates and exceeds standards of key service dimensions.

6. Achieves and maintains financial targets in support of the business goals of the institution.

7. Manages departmental budget.

8. Establishes and enforces quality assurance standards, programs, and procedures.

9. Prevents outages of critical patient care items.

10. Ensures that all nursing unit patient chargeable carts are properly filled, stock on carts is rotated, and carts are periodically cleaned.

11. Reviews documentation with regard to price increases and price sensitive items.

12. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                         

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:  

Minimum 5 years of experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.Commitment to the University’s core values.
