Job Description Manager will be responsible for the ongoing management of the contract membership eligibility and the customer Class of Trade (COT) assignment function to ensure US Commercial customers are categorized within their correct business activities. Assist commercial contracting team with customer assignment to their designated contracts and/or Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) membership rosters. Will work closely with direct reports, and the broader government team, to assess existing processes and current COT structure to simplify and improve efficiencies as applicable. Focuses on periodic compliance and monitoring activities to ensure COT designations are in line with the customer’s current business activities, especially those COTs that may directly impact certain government pricing calculations. Support/Coordinate business initiatives around set-up and management of Limited Distribution Networks (LDN), including customer COT research/set up and contract eligibility and related databases. Support new contracting initiatives that may impact area of responsibility. Work closely with wholesaler chargeback team to manage in-process queue to ensure timely resolution of chargeback payments to the wholesalers. Must be able to work cross functionally with Market Access/Trade, Business Technical Services (BTS), and Demand Planning on new initiatives and existing processes. Ensure best practices with Corporate Customer Registry to maintain efficiencies and/or identify new efficiencies. Requires excellent communication, project management, and employee management/development skills. Incumbent must possess an ability to help the team resolve problems quickly utilizing a variety of data sources, as well as documenting rationale for resulting decisions. Communicate well with peers, various levels of management and with personnel at various levels of customer accounts during the COT verification process. Core Job Responsibilities: + Create and approve new customer/existing customer requests in the Data Stewardship Platform (DSP) system utilizing supporting documentation provided by the requesting analyst, including HIN, DEA, Medical License, and 340B ID. + Prevent approval back-logs and work with customer service to develop protocols around quick turnaround times for urgent matters. + Regularly assess existing COT schema to align with best in class industry practices where possible. + Develop/document decision trees and applicable Desk Top Procedures (DTPs), including maintenance of + Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency in determining COT assignments. + Keep up to date and reflective of current business practices. + Identify high risk areas and work with management to mitigate risks to ensure proper compliance. + Monitor and track key performance metrics to measure customer set-up metrics, including measuring in-process queues to ensure effective turnaround. + Attend applicable conferences/seminars related to areas of responsibility (i.e. MDRP, CBI, etc.). + Manage projects/impact goals. + Perform regular monitoring activities to ensure that 340B covered entities/contract pharmacies and + Disproportionate Share Hospitals (DSH) hospital customers are properly classified. + Collaborate in an effective manner with the government pricing team, commercial pricing team, and customer master. + Assist with various projects related to data analytics and performance metrics. + Participate in cross functional meetings to ensure the direction and accuracy of customer maintenance. + Responsible for managing a team of two (2) direct reports. + Perform other duties as assigned. Position Accountability and Scope: Responsible for supporting the chargeback processing and contracting teams with respect to membership and class of trade responsibilities. Must possess a high degree of integrity, communication and strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Failure to maintain accurate membership/class of trade information will result in chargeback denials, disputes with customers, and potential impact to government price calculations. The incumbent must be able to perform effectively with little supervision and demonstrate sound business judgment within the scope of defined guidelines. This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Class of Trade/Membership. This position will have frequent interaction with Customer Master and other Government and Commercial Pricing managers. Qualifications Minimum Experience/Training Required: Previous employee management and/or influence over project teams experience is required. Strong analytical skills is required. Problem solving, process assessment/documentation, communication, and integrity are key competencies of this position. Incumbent must have gained a thorough understanding of current COT/Membership processes, including use of DSP to approve workflow requests within two (2) months of assuming responsibilities. Must have intermediate or higher-level skills with MS Office Productivity Tools (i.e., Excel, Word, etc.), PowerBI, and excellent data mining skills. Incumbent must have gained a basic understanding of Medicaid law, Medicaid/Medicare Fraud & Abuse statutes, and AbbVie’s Corporate Compliance Program within 6 months of assuming responsibilities. Proficiency with Model N – Customer/Contracts Modules, SAP/DSP, COGNOS, and TM1 and other related government systems and interfaces is desirable but not required.
