Varian, a Siemens Healthineers Company, is seeking to hire a Manager, Clinical Applications in the Medical Affairs Department of the Varian Interventional Solutions (VIS) business unit.

Due to the expansion of our CTS (Clinical Training Specialists) team across the country, we are seeking a highly experienced professional to manage our CTS in the eastern region of the United States.

The role will require regular travel throughout the assigned territory (> 50%).

Role Responsibilities:

Management responsibility

Is responsible for a group of CTS across the territory.Is knowledgeable of all products in the VIS portfolio to be able to support CTS with their assigned roles.Manages general day to day questions and queries from the CTS team on company processes and procedures.Works collaboratively with other CTS Territory Managers, the broader Medical Affairs team, and the Commercial team.

Coordinates case coverage

Ensures team members are available for all required casesWorking with the CTS team, the sales team and company logistics, ensure product/s and ancillary components are available for each case.Work closely with other CTS Territory Managers to provide case support for cases out of the managed territory if required.Ensure CTS submit case support documents on time.

Trains and educates physicians and hospital staff on use of assigned VIS products

When needed, provide on-site clinical support during procedures while maintaining a “hands off” posture in relation to direct patient contact.Interacts with customers and functional organizations to determine their training needs and uses engineering documentation such as Operators Manuals and DFUs to develop content of courses.Works with engineering, technical support and manufacturing to provide feedback on product development and customer needs. May coordinate or lead customer and/or employee training classes.May also conduct large group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows.May also provide demo support to local, regional and national customer trade events.

Collaborate with the VIS Medical Affairs Team

Assists Medical Education, Medical Information, and Medical Science Liaisons with assigned projects.Provides competitive product performance information to headquarters marketing or engineering groups.

Skills & Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in life science industry-based medical support rolesExperience in managing teamsClinical Background – IR/CT Technician, Operating Room Nurse or Surgical Technician preferred.Experience/Knowledge of IR suite, Operating Room Protocol and Sterile Technique.Knowledge of national / regional regulations and industry standards regarding interactions with healthcare professionals.Experience in supporting vascular procedures highly regarded.Experience in supporting tissue ablation procedures highly regarded.Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.Self-motivated, autonomous and accountable.Ability to address, communicate and implement changes quickly and effectively.Broad experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
