The Manager of Clinical Inventory manages the work of Inventory Coordinators and Inventory Control Clerks in all clinical inventories to insure that materials and supplies are managed effectively. Responsible for all clinical asset inventories department inventory processes totaling on average $10 million dollars. This individual will be accountable for collaborating with physicians on requested new products for purchase. Will be responsible for developing plans to control inventory costs within all clinical inventory areas. Will spearhead cost reduction initiatives within the division by working with surgeon leadership and department administration. Responsible for daily shift coverage as well as backup for staff. Conducts performance appraisals for employees and administers corrective coaching and counseling as needed.Manages clinical inventory totaling on average $10 million. Collaborates with Value Analysis and clinical areas to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through standardization and clinical inventory control. Prepares, reviews and researches monthly discrepancies between Materials Management inventory systems and financial performance. Coordinates meetings, presents findings and provides recommendations for improvements. Front line contact between the clinical area leadership and supply chain to explain inventory levels, cost reduction activities, utilization and standardization. Provides explanations for monthly financial statement components related to supplies expense. Utilizes two electronic materials management inventory systems (Cerner and Lawson) to review, analyze, and monitor inventory levels. Assesses, establishes, and maintains the appropriate clinical inventory levels based on item turnover, lead-time, review period, order quantity, and safety stock. Assists in identifying inventory items exceeding established hold times and works with departmental clinical management and/or staff to determine applicable use, retention, disposal or obsolescence of affected items. Performs high-level analysis to determine the impact of inventory retention, turnover, and replenishment. Tracks and trends turnover rates. Conducts assessment and analytical studies related to inventory management, such as stock room layout, special equipment, storage needs and allocation, and material handling methods and procedures. Manages the clinical inventory physical inventory, responsible for scheduling resources and coordinating the “count”. Will be called upon to help other departments with their fiscal year-end inventories. Works as a key player with Finance to analyze and improve processes between the integrated Materials Management and Financial Management systems. Accountable for achieving specific financial outcomes for cost reduction and standardization opportunities for the clinical procedural areas. Collaborates with surgeons on the Request to Evaluate (RTE) process to ensure we are meeting the financial goals of the organization as well as the clinical needs of the surgeons. Spearheads cost reduction initiatives within clinical procedural areas by working with surgeon leadership and department administration. Coordinates, oversees, and reports the results of cost reduction initiatives within clinical inventory areas. Collaborates, with Value Analysis and clinical inventory areas to oversee the introduction of new products, supplies and equipment. Recognizes recurring problems or systems in needs of performance improvement with a focus on reduction of supply utilization. Develops annual individual and department goals and objectives that are consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Strategies of the Medical Center and Supply Chain Division. Holds regular department staff meetings to insure open communication with employees and encourage their professional development. Participates in and contributes to professional and civic organizations outside of the Medical Center. Participates in and supports development activities within the institution, focusing on the net group of leaders within the Supply Chain Division. Performs other work as required or requested.

Required Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field required. Master’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred.Licensure/Certification/Registry:
Certified Materials Resources Professional (CMRP) preferred.Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, inventory or related experience required. Experience as a Registered Nurse or OR/Surgical Tech experience strongly preferred. Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience required.Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Possess the ability to manage the needs of the clinical areas while achieving the financial targets for the clinical departments. Demonstrated ability to design workflows to maximize human capital resources. High-level math skills, writing, and computer skills are required. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite and materials management software required. Lawson Software, Lawson Mobile Supply Chain Management, Microsoft Add-Ins, Crystal Reports and Cerner Software experience is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership in organizational change and quality management. Proven negotiation, team facilitation, change management, and conflict resolution skills are required. Springfield, IL
