The Manager, Clinical Services position directly reports to the Corporate Medical & Employee Health (MEH) Department in Fort Worth to ensure the safety and productivity of BNSF employees. The position also partners with allied functions (Industrial Hygiene, EAP, Wellness) to improve employee health and wellness. This position will assist regional field medical managers with case management responsibilities as well. The Manager, Clinical Services is responsible for improving corporate health and productivity and for actively managing health related risk through the oversight and management of occupational health programs.
Minimal travel is required (0-5% of time)
Key responsibilities may include:
Work under the direction of the BNSF Medical Directors to ensure safety, productivity and improve employee health and wellness.
Determines employee “fitness for duty” by reviewing clinical records, medical evaluations, physical demand criteria, physical restrictions and possible accommodations.
Provides case management follow up for medical conditions requiring monitoring in safety sensitive positions.
Interfaces with human resources, operations leaders, safety, facility management, and examination management companies to facilitate and troubleshoot problems with occupationally based examinations.
Assists in modification of exam protocols as needed to meet OSHA, DOT, and/or FRA requirements and requirements of employee duties and exposures.
May provide other clinical support services including but not limited to coordinating return-to-work plans for employees with medical or behavioral health conditions, review FMLA applications for “fitness for duty determinations”, assist with post-offer “fitness for duty determinations”, maintain databases to produce trend reports, and assist with various training programs.
Daily work is conducted in a safe indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:
Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational medicine or case management.
Fully unencumbered nursing license (preferably Texas)
Exceptional oral and written communication skills required.
Proficiency with computer, case management data bases and common office equipment required.
Must be able to prioritize work appropriately, shift from one task to another frequently and possess excellent organization skills also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
COHN certification and/or experience in chronic disease management
Professional work experience in the military, large corporate setting, or union environment
