About The Role: 
The Manager, Cloud Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring seamless scalability, performance, and security. This role will align with other leaders on strategic direction and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects, managing resources and providing technical guidance to the team. A heavy emphasis will be placed on establishing appropriate governance and guardrails for our Engineering team to rely on as the company shifts more of its platform to the Cloud.
What You Will Do:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:o Lead and manage the Cloud Engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to cloud engineers across various levels.o Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions in AWS, Azure, and GCP.o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture strategies that align with business goals and drive innovation.o Oversee the deployment and management of cloud services, ensuring continuous monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of performance, cost, and security.o Develop and evangelize cloud architecture best practices, policies, and governance frameworks.o Foster a culture of operational excellence through technical leadership, advocating for performance improvements and infrastructure scalability.o Drive automation efforts for cloud deployment, configuration management, and monitoring to enhance operational efficiency.o Implement security and compliance measures to safeguard cloud environments, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.o Manage the capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery processes for cloud infrastructure.o Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.o Partner with key stakeholders to manage cloud-related budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
About You:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field.o 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on managing teams and cloud infrastructure at scale.o Extensive experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).o Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security best practices.o Proficiency with cloud automation tools and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).o Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies, with specific experience providing a managed Kubernetes service.o Solid understanding of DevOps and SRE principles, with experience in CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.o Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to guide and mentor cloud engineering teams.o Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.o Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, etc.) are a plus.
