**JOB SUMMARY:**
**The** **Manager of Commercial Accounting** **is responsible for leading process and system improvements while overseeing key accounting functions related to inventory volume reconciliation and valuation. This role focuses on enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in commercial accounting by collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging technology. The Manager ensures precise recording and reporting of inventory transactions and supports financial reporting efforts. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset and a strong understanding of inventory accounting in a commercial environment.**

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**
**Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).**
**CPA certification**
**5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.**
**Experience with process improvement initiatives and system implementations (preferred).**
**Experience in the energy, oil and gas, or manufacturing sectors (preferred).**
**Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory accounting, and cost accounting principles.**
**Proven ability to lead process and system improvement projects.**
**Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and advanced Excel skills.**
**Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.**
**Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.**
**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**
**Process Improvement Expertise: Ability to lead initiatives that enhance accounting processes and systems.**
**Inventory Reconciliation and Valuation: Knowledge of inventory accounting principles and reconciliation techniques.**
**Reporting and Analysis: Experience in preparing and analyzing financial reports and metrics.**
**Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to mentor team members and partner effectively with various stakeholders.**
**Compliance and Controls: Understanding of regulatory and company requirements to ensure adherence to best practices.**
**KEY RESONSBAILITES:**
**1. Process and System Improvement:**
+ Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize accounting workflows related to inventory and commercial transactions.
+ Collaborate with IT and operational teams to design, test, and implement system enhancements and new technologies.
+ Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.
+ Lead and support cross-functional projects aimed at improving data integrity, automation, and reporting capabilities.
**2. Inventory Volume Reconciliation and Valuation:**
+ Oversee the reconciliation of inventory volumes across various systems, ensuring accuracy and alignment with physical counts.
+ Monitor and analyze inventory valuations to ensure proper application of cost accounting principles and compliance with GAAP.
+ Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to address discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
+ Provide detailed analysis of inventory metrics and trends to support decision-making.
**3. Financial Reporting and Analysis:**
+ Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses for inventory and commercial activities.
+ Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
+ Support internal and external reporting requirements by preparing detailed schedules and analyses.
+ Partner with senior leadership to provide insights and recommendations based on financial trends and operational data.
**4. Team Collaboration and Leadership:**
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, trading, logistics, and IT, to ensure alignment on accounting processes and reporting.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
+ Act as a key resource for addressing complex accounting issues and resolving process challenges.
**5. Compliance and Internal Controls:**
+ Maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX, SEC, and other regulatory requirements.
+ Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations for inventory and commercial transactions.
+ Ensure all accounting activities align with company policies and industry standards.
