How will you make an impact in this role?

American Express Global Commercial Payment division is looking for an experienced Project Operations Leader to lead a team of Project Managers/Analysts who provide project management, customer facing coordination support to establish & Onboard Amex Commercial Payments Products & Programs for new & existing commercial customers. 

The Japan Commercial Onboarding Services (COS) teams focus includes understanding client needs, providing consultancy, change management and execution support through the end-to-end Onboarding process. The COS team partners closely with prospect & existing Commercial customers and multiple internal teams including Sales, Account Development, Technology, Compliance, Legal & Risk & operations support teams.  

In addition to daily operational leadership, the Japan COS Manager will be expected to provide business process, change & project management coaching, and guidance coupled with consultancy, thought leadership, product and process expertise.

The role will require experience leading teams, managing partner & stakeholder relationships. Leadership experience in business, financial services, payments, travel &/or operations management is required. Experience in Commercial Payments &/or Travel Industry would also be a distinct advantage.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

People Leadership experience 3+years Project Management 3+ years Operations Management experience  Customer facing experience  Excellent written & verbal communication skills (Japanese & English)

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor's degree  Knowledge of procure to pay processes, financial and AP and reconciliation processes Demonstrated experience and ability to interact with clients at all levels of the organization including C level executives. Relationship management and negotiation skills  Strong process and Project Management skills together with a demonstrated results orientation (setting targets, prioritization, personal accountability) and proficiency with metrics / KPIs Strong collaboration, influencing and communication skills. Ability to articulate complex and abstract ideas clearly and simply Experience working in a global/matrixed environment
