Position: Manager, Commercial Solutions Development

Job Description:

Forward Air is seeking a Manager, Commercial Solutions Development who will work collaboratively across business units to develop, enhance, and continuously improve new and existing services, with a focus on optimizing profitable growth in the Direct LTL product line.  The Manager, Commercial Solutions Development, is responsible for identifying, designing, and deploying processes and solutions that improve the speed to market and improve profitability.  This role will develop and enable best-in-class processes, workflows and tracking that allow team members to rapidly recognize revenue and grow profitability.  

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

Identify and lead cross functional improvements to enable a best in class direct to customer LTL product Scope and lead initiatives focused to improve the process Forward Air employs to source, price, sell, contract, onboard, execute, invoice, and collect direct LTL business Collaborate and coordinate with sales, operations, IT, finance, pricing, and other teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities throughout the shipment lifecycle aligned with organizational strategic initiatives  Build capabilities repository to drive competitive offers, premium customer experiences for rapid speed to market and profitable growth Evaluate and align sales strategy and business processes, ensuring feasibility, to deliver innovation or refinement opportunities Develop and implement best practices, standardization, metrics, and improvement of internal processes and tracking of progress towards goals & KPIs Develop internal insights reporting and supportive processes to streamline and improve customer experience and ease of doing business with Forward Air  Review existing programs, process, documentation needs, internal controls, interdependencies and integration weaknesses to identify opportunities for standardization, improvement, and efficiencies Perform SWOT, gap analysis, process and workflow mapping, automation of repeatable and non- value add tasks Influence adoption of best practice methodologies and celebrate early adopters to boost laggard participation Offer unique perspectives and encourage innovative engagement to enhance the employee, customer through process improvement and internal controls Create, implement, and provide executive updates to a sequential plan focused on highest value customers and company outcomes Participate in similar initiatives across all Forward Air lines of business

Qualifications:

3+ Years experience in best-practice process development 5+ years transportation or logistics experience preferred 2+ years of management or logistics leadership is required Indirect leadership, communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills required Broad knowledge of such fields as supply chain, accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.  A four-year college degree is required
