JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Continuous Improvement is a process and team leader responsible for overseeing the development of current business capabilities and enabling the pathway for successful deployment of new processes and systems within our Stores and upstream functions. The role will require overseeing both current and future business processes, identifying opportunities through analytics and improving efficiencies, increasing capacity, and reducing cost to serve across the organization. This position requires extensive collaboration across the organization while being focused on driving initiatives to completion. This position requires hands-on experience and business acumen in the development of large-scale business and systems processes that promote the growth of the company and assures the scalability for a fast-growing company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies, analyze root causes, and develop actionable plans for improvement Align multiple cross functional teams including colleagues, stakeholders, external partners, and senior management to prioritize improvement projects based on their impact on business objectives and resource availability Lead Industrial Engineering activities to include initiating, validating and maintaining time-studied standards Cross functionally collaborate to ensure program alignment and implementation success Communicate progress, successes, and challenges related to continuous improvement efforts to executive leadership and stakeholders Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and track progress over time Ensure that improvement initiatives are sustainable by implementing robust systems for monitoring and maintaining performance gains Serve as a change agent, support training, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages experimentation and continuous learning Responsible for ensuring appropriate documentation of business processes and suggestions required to improve process efficiencies Provide strategic direction to At Home’s leadership and implement, with areas of focus around optimization, labor utilization, ergonomics, automation, digitalization, & e-commerce Strong business acumen and understanding of P&L and operating performance metrics
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred Certification in lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies highly desirable 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or a related field 2+ years of managerial (team leadership) experience Client service, consulting, or professional services experience preferred Proven track record of leading successful projects and continuous improvement initiatives in a complex organizational environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive change Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, coach and motivate individual/team performance Experience working cross-functionally and building relationships at all levels of an organization to drive meaningful change results Solid understanding of process optimization techniques, tools, and methodologies Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present complex ideas and data to diverse audiences Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to achieve team goals and complete assignments within established deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office products
