Manager, Core Laboratory
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **Laboratory Certification (ASCP or NCA) required.** **Position Summary:** In this role, The Manager of Core Laboratory at Loyola University Medical Center is responsible for the ongoing operation of a specific section of the laboratory including the allocation of financial and human resources and the implementation and maintenance of the section’s quality improvement program. The manager promotes MAGIS behavior within the section and supports various health system-sponsored programs. The manager works closely with the laboratory medical director in the implementation of new policies, procedures and equipment that support hospital and ambulatory operations. **Position Responsibilities:** + Allocating equipment and supply resources to insure the efficient and effective operation of the section. + Prepares budgets and maintains monthly supply expenses within 5% of budget. Investigates budget variances in a timely manner. + Evaluates capital equipment purchases in collaboration with the section medical director. Prepares capital requests as required to secure funding and evaluates the accuracy of capital budget assumptions. + Managing staffing resources in order to meet the needs of laboratory stakeholders. + Hires qualified employees to fill open positions. + Ensures that employees are properly trained and that the training is completely documented. + Applies LUHS human resource policies consistently and fairly. + Evaluates and documents employee performance according to LUHS policies. Provides regular feedback on employee performance. + Identifies, documents and resolves human resource issues within the section + Prepares, implements and monitors individual work improvement plans in order to improve employee performance. + Develops individuals for laboratory leadership positions. + Facilitates monthly staff meetings and effectively communicates the LUHS vision and departmental goals. **Requirements:** + Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or other lab sciences. + Previous job-related experience manager high volume clinical lab + Managerial Experience: 5+ years **Licensure/Certifications:** + Certified Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, laboratory discipline specific or specialty certificate (ASCP or AMT) Pay range: $84,156- $134,659 _Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles._ Trinity Health Benefits Summary (https://www.trinity-health.org/sites/default/files/my-benefits/Health-and-Wellbeing/Compliance/Illinois-Transparency-Law/Trinity-Health-Summary-of-Benefits-Illinois-Job-Req-Discloser-Law.pdf) At Loyola University Medical Center, we know you’re more than your job.
