This position will be in a high-energy, deadline driven environment and will be accountable for the day to day oversight of the Company’s Corporate accounting team and processes. This role is critical to the overall success of the Corporate accounting team in three important ways. First, this role manages the oversight, delegation and review of work within the monthly close and reporting cycles to ensure financial results are produced and reported in an efficient, timely and well controlled manner. Additionally, in the spirit of continuous improvement, this role works to identify, plan and implement initiatives geared toward advancing the efficiency and service provided to business partners who rely on information produced by the accounting group. Finally, this role establishes a culture of accountability and high achievement by taking an active role in the professional development and growth of direct reports.
This position will assist the Director of Corporate Accounting as one of the primary points of contact for all Corporate accounting close and reporting related matters and will have significant interaction with other functional areas within the Company. This position requires advanced knowledge of GAAP basis accounting and reporting principles, a high level of energy, positive attitude, attention to detail and the ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Close Functions:
Oversee the day to day progression of the monthly and quarterly close cycles to ensure timelines are met and accurate financial results are produced. This requires close coordination with other accounting groups and the FP&A team to ensure proper planning between all vested parties results in a well-executed close to reporting process. Accountable for the monthly production, review and analysis of the Consolidated Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flows.Advance the enterprise’s cash flow analysis and reporting capabilities and actively assist with developing and maturing the cash flow forecasting process.Ensure the reconciliation between Net Income, Funds From Operations (FFO) and Fund Available for Distribution (FAD) is complete and accurate.Oversee recognition, review and analysis of corporate expenses, such as G&A, deal & integration cost and professional fees are accurately recognized within Net Income, FFO and FAD. Organize and oversee the consolidated monthly review of balance sheet and bank account reconciliations, ensuring reconciliations are completed across the enterprise in a timely and well controlled manner and reconciling items are properly dispositioned.Lead the production and review of the monthly and quarterly internal reporting packages.Serve as a co-business administrator for the Longview close accounting application. Duties include ensuring proper change control procedures are established and followed, application development and adoption is advanced and maintenance issues are resolved Coordinate with AP and other internal business partners to ensure quarterly cutoff and accrual procedures result in the proper recognition of corporate liabilities.Provide accounting and reporting support as needed to internal partners such as Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, etc. and external partners such as external auditors. Partner with legal and IT teams to ensure proper day to day oversight and administration of the legal billing system is in place.Leadership Functions:

helping define and execute on team objectives and priorities.evaluating processes and procedures to ensure workloads are properly delegated and following up with corrective actions when pain points are identified.continuously assessing and improving team performance by actively coaching and developing direct reports via a team structure that promotes open discussion, alternative points of view and constructive feedback.Requirements:
