The Manager, Corporate Controllership will leverage accounting and analytical skills and understanding of U.S. GAAP to oversee various accounting activities including but not limited to product level accounting, reconcilements, analytics, and reporting activities around our loan portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide critical management and support for various control functions ensuring accurate and timely P&L, balance sheet, and month-end close proceduresManages the processing, accounting entries, reconciliations, reporting, analysis, and documentation of assigned job areas within the controllershipImproves the effectiveness of the team by making adjustments and/or enhancements to current accounting and reporting processesPartner with the business to drive forth and implement robust controls and new business initiativesDrive coordination across various front & back office support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely mannerServe as an analytical and project support resource for product controlSuccessfully partner with line of business and finance partners to advise on accounting related matters including but not limited to Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL), transfers and servicing of financial instruments, and other matters affecting depository and lending institutionsCreates increasingly complex financial statement schedules, audit support schedules and other reports in a timely manner.Establishes, documents and performs internal control procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.Understands how data flows through the financial systems to the accounting function in order to identify issues and take action to address them.Continually assesses the business value and efficiency of the work performed, making suggestions for improvements and collaborating with others in implementing them.Leads or actively participates in increasingly complex department projects and continuous improvement activities.

Experience, Skills and Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA and/or graduate degree preferred5-8 years of accounting experience or progressively challenging experience within an accounting function, financial services preferredAbility to perform detailed variance review and financial analysisExcellent computer skills -- especially in complex Excel functions to quickly be able to analyze dataEffective written and oral communication skillsDemonstrates the ability to understand and interpret complex accounting issues and processes and to recommend actions to ensure integrity of financial systems and compliance with GAAP.Works and communicates effectively with management and staff throughout the organizationDemonstrates project management skills with proven success at managing projects to completion with limited supervision

The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000USD to $130,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
