Manager, Corporate Tax

Additionally, it has a 1,200 MW development pipeline of additional renewable resources to support grid reliability and decarbonization. **About the Role:** The Manager, Corporate Tax is a key leadership role within the tax department, responsible for overseeing income tax reporting, short- and long-term tax planning, tax modelling, compliance, corporate tax accounting, and audits across the organization, with a primary focus on Canada. This position plays a critical part in ensuring all entities meet external and internal tax reporting requirements while complying with Canadian tax laws. The Manager will develop and maintain processes to ensure accurate reporting, manage relationships with tax authorities, collaborate with other Clearlight teams, and contribute to the organization’s long-term financial objectives through effective tax management and planning. **Responsibilities** **What you will do…** + Ensure accurate and timely filing of all Canadian tax and information returns. + Work closely with external advisors on tax preparation and filing. + Prepare consolidated tax provision for various levels of Canadian and US consolidated groups to meet the reporting and disclosure requirements under US GAAP. + Prepare consolidated rate reconciliations to reconcile permanent differences between the effective tax rate and statutory tax rate. + Review and prepare tax return working papers for all the Canadian entities. + Support tax due diligence, tax modelling and tax structuring advice. Engage and manage external advisors as needed, and other strategic initiatives. + Assist with long-term tax forecasting and annual tax expense budgeting to support the company’s financial planning objectives. + Manage Canadian tax audits, including preparing and reviewing responses to queries and assessments. + Liaise with tax auditors, maintaining positive relationships and ensuring smooth audit processes. + Coordinate with internal departments to gather required information and ensure audit scope and requirements are clearly communicated and addressed efficiently. + Provide advisory support on tax implications of major transactions, including working with Legal and Treasury teams to obtain proper resolutions and documentation. + Ensure all entities are properly registered in applicable jurisdictions and all correspondence from tax authorities are properly addressed. + Assist in tax research and planning assignments. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including LS’s tax team, to align tax strategies with business goals. + Engage and manage external advisors for complex tax matters and projects as needed. + Drive continuous improvement in the tax reporting and compliance processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. + Respond to ad hoc tax queries and provide timely advice on tax implications of various transactions. **Qualifications** **We want you on our team because you…** + Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in taxes along with a professional accounting designation (CGA, CMA or CA), preferably with a Big 4 firms. + Completion of CICA in-depth tax course is an asset. + Partnerships, trusts, and Canadian corporate tax experience is an asset. + Excellent communication skills (both written & oral) and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with other team members and different departments. + Proficient in the use of MS office products. **Ideally, you also have…** + Attention to detail and strong hands-on skills. + Demonstrate and encourage enthusiasm for work. + Able to work with and meet tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks. **Job Locations** _CA-ON_ **ID** _2025-1682_ **Category** _Clearlight Energy_ **Type** _Full Time_
