Position Description
The Manager of Global Crisis Management under the Global Security Organization within Converged Security Services, is responsible for Incident Management and Corporate Crisis Management for local, regional, and/or global events that impact ADP. The Manager of Global Crisis Management supports the Director of Global Crisis Management and assists with serving as the primary coordinator for ADP’s emergency planning; liaison and relationship manager with local, state and federal emergency management agencies; and Co-Chair of the ADP Safety Governance Committee.
This position is responsible for the management, and coordination of standards, training, action plans, and reporting based on ADP's global Business Resiliency platform and ADP’s duty of care to associates. The selected candidate will be assigned to a specific office (Miami, FL or Augusta, GA preferred; or another ADP office TBD). This position requires irregular work hours and up to 25% travel.

What You'll Do:
Crisis Management Serve as the backup Corporate Crisis Manager for local, regional, or global events that impact ADP Business Units. Regularly engage the Chief Security Officer (CSO), Vice President, Converged Security Services (CSS), Senior Director of Public Safety and Crisis Management, senior leadership, corporate and business unit/division resiliency practitioners and or champions, Corporate Communications, HR, IT, Corporate Real Estate and Legal when necessary. Provide business and technical guidance across ADP globally to senior leadership, business unit leadership, global business resiliency champions, and associates. Become a trusted advisor and contribute to raising operational risk and business resiliency awareness throughout the organization globally. Collaborate closely with the Senior Directors; Public Safety / Crisis Management, Global Investigations and Forensics Services, and Associate Relations, regarding associate health, welfare, safety and accountability during major events impacting ADP’s associate population. Collaborate closely with the Business Continuity Management Organization regarding continuity of business operations. Provide summarized and detailed metrics on global Crisis Management, readiness, crisis and incident reporting, and perform gap analysis and controls assurance program reviews as necessary in areas critical to the operating effectiveness of ADP worldwide. Engage with corporate, business unit and division leaders globally as appropriate to minimize the recurrence crisis incidents. Manage, direct and create high level Executive Committee security notifications regarding events with a major impact on ADP’s business operations, associates or reputation.
Emergency Planning and Policy Manage enterprise-wide corporate crisis management policies, standards, plans (including but not limited to corporate crisis management and pandemic plans), and operational support platforms for All Hazard events. Develop and incorporate best-practices across the global enterprise; execute training standards and programs for crisis incident management and business continuity. Provide world-wide direct support to all business units on Incident/Crisis Management planning.
External Liaison Serve as ADP’s primary liaison to governmental crisis and disaster management agencies throughout the global enterprise, to include FEMA, DHS, other national agencies and local OEMs, etc. Maintain contact with outside Incident Management professional organizations and local/regional emergency response groups that participate in business continuity, disaster recovery, and emergency management. Through effective relationship building, facilitate the provisioning of ADP’s emergency responders to mobilize to a crisis location as needed.
Other responsibilities Collaborate effectively with cross-functional entities across the enterprise. In the absence of the Director, Global Crisis Management, the incumbent may provide management and supervision of the Crisis Management teams’ daily operations. Mentor and manage a team of indirect reports within the Crisis Management team, responsible for supporting crisis and incident management. Drive organizational direction, and possess attributes of time management, problem-solving, prioritization, goal setting, leadership and motivation, negotiation, interpersonal relations, verbal/written communications and human resource management. Exercises a great amount of independent decision making, acts as a subject matter expert. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with senior level management. Individual must possess a mature ability to deal with stress and make sound professional judgment in potentially threatening environments. Ability to solve practical problems and react quickly and calmly to changing or emergency circumstances. These services may require long hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Candidates must be willing to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice (Skills & Abilities). Responsible for collaborative “thought leadership” within CSS and introducing innovative crisis management concepts throughout the GSO and ADP. Play a major role in contributing to the operation and management of the department in areas such as recruiting, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, training, etc. May serve as the security liaison for the office in respect to Physical Security and Associate Safety at assigned office location. May provide security protection for the assigned office, other offices as directed, and events as directed. Perform other essential roles and duties during a crisis or event, as directed by the CSO or VP, CSS, Senior Director of Public Safety and Crisis Management, and Director of Crisis Management. Travel to Emergency Operations Center or Emergency Field Operations as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
You'll have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a degree in emergency management or crisis management, or in a related field is preferred. A master’s degree a plus. You'll have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a global crisis management and business resilience/continuity of operations role for Multi-National Corporations and/or State or Federal Offices of Emergency Management. You'll have a proven practical knowledge of crisis management techniques and best practices regarding business resiliency, continuity of operations and life safety of associates. You'll have vast and proven experience operating in international business or governmental environments, driving global crisis management programs and operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Outstanding ethical character and proven reliability in high confidence matters. Crisis/Emergency Management degree and/or FEMA Certifications in ICS, COOP, (PCP, MCP), NIMS, MEPP, ICS, etc.; or ITIL, ASIS/CPP or PSP or ISACA/CISM Certifications preferred. Framework working knowledge required. Proficient in use of Microsoft's Office Suite. Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business partners in remote locations. Team oriented self-starter, with high degree of initiative. Ability to influence others to achieve results. A strong sense of accountability. Analytical ability. Effective business writing skills and experience. Knowledge of and sensitivity to country norms and practices. Must have a strong sense of urgency and complete projects in a timely manner. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with senior level management. Ability to solve practical problems and react quickly and calmly to changing or emergency circumstances. Current HR-218 Certification (Retired Law Enforcement / Government) preferred. Requires Valid Passport and ability to travel.
