Title and Summary
Manager, Data Engineering & AnalyticsThe Open Banking Business Intelligence team is responsible for Analytics, Automation, and innovative development of Analytics services to address the evolving performance needs of all of Mastercard’s Open Banking customer segments. The OB BI team in P&E focuses on defining the strategic direction for Metrics and Key Performance Indicators to enable the successful implementation of our services with the end-customer. The team is responsible for looking across all the products/services across OB and driving Quality and Performance by democratizing access to Data and Analytics.The candidate for this position will focus on leading the support for large account and prospect customers by leveraging data analytics to enable data-driven sales and decision-making across all OB products, services, and processes.
The Manager, Data Engineering will support Mastercard Open Banking products through client data ingestion, processing, and coordination. A Manager, Data Engineering will:
- Lead relationships with Mastercard Operations and Technology teams to facilitate the analytics tasks and diffusion of insights.
- Manage and mentors a team of analysts to analyze large volumes of transaction and product data to generate insights and actionable recommendations to drive business growth.
- Act as an expert resource within the team across subjects, including Mastercard’s Data Warehouse, data compliance, source control, data validation, and testing.
- Develop repeatable and scalable code that processes client data in an automated and efficient manner to ensure data availability in the platform is as real-time as possible.
- Lead the Team in their efforts to scale by identifying data-driven opportunities and developing relevant supporting materials.
- Collects and synthesizes feedback from clients, development, product, and sales teams for new solutions or product enhancements.
- Applies knowledge of metrics, measurements, and benchmarking to complex and demanding solutions.
- Oversee data mining, model development, time series analysis, and forecasting.
- Create highly predictive models using segmentation and regression techniques to drive improvements across operational performance, revenue, quality.
- Ensure the standardization of data-driven insights and advanced analytics solutions using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Snowflake, and MS Office suite.
- Develop effective working relationships with global teams and business partners.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and structures project work to facilitate the capture of Intellectual Capital with minimal oversight.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in the Payments/Financial Services Industry or depth of knowledge in a consulting field
- Proven experience in hands-on business analysis, modeling, segmentation, and data mining using large volumes of granular data to deliver analytical solutions.
- Expertise and hands-on experience with RDBMS technologies, preferably with any of the following, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft SQL Server, the SSIS Stack and .NET.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., Powershell, Python, Bash, Korn Shell, AWK scripting, C Programming, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL).
- Strong skills in Tableau, Alteryx, Python, MS-Excel, and PowerPoint.
Platforms/Environments: Snowflake, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Python.
- Exposure to collecting and/or working with data including standardizing, summarizing, offering initial observations, and highlighting inconsistencies.
- Strong understanding of the application of analytical methods and data visualization to support business decisions.
- Ability to understand complex operational systems and analytics/business intelligence tools for the delivery of information products and analytical offerings to a large, global user base.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment as part of a team and as an individual contributor.
- Ability to easily move between business, analytical, and technical teams and articulate solution requirements for each group.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or other quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research). Master’s degree preferred.
Location Requirement: This is a hybrid position based in Mastercard's O'Fallon, Missouri location.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
