Manager, Data Scientist

What you will do

As the Data Scientist Manager, you will lead a team and drive innovation through advanced analytics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable insights to enhance strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will include developing advanced analytics and machine learning solutions to optimize commercial operations, improve sales forecasts, pricing, product configuration, and pipeline management across multiple departments and brands. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities 
•    Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists and interns. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
•    Guide the development and deployment of advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data visualizations. Ensure the accuracy and robustness of analytical solutions.
•    Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions. 
•    Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of sales and service operations.  
•    Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets. 
•    Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes. 
•    Develop company A/B testing framework and test model quality. 
•    Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. 

Who are you?

Critical Competencies 
•    Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets. 
•    Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques and advanced statistical methods (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks. 
•    Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Databricks, etc. 
•    Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Power BI, Qlikview, ggplot, etc.
•    Experience with Azure DevOps and code review.

•    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, motivate and guide team members.
•    Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on data product development. 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams. 
•    A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques. 

 

Essential Educational
•    You will hold a Master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field.

 

Preferred Experience
•    2-5 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
•    1-2 years of related leadership experience preferred.
