Your Opportunity as the Department Manager

Location: New Orleans, LA - Chef manufacturing plant

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site

Willingness to work off shift (including nights, weekends, and/or holidays), extended hours, and flow to the work as needed

Reports to: Operations Manager

In this role you will:

Lead a team of employees to deliver key business results through providing direction on production goals, technical improvement, and various projects related to the operationPrimary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) developing scopes of work, people management and development, and managing the department’s budget and cost controlsDevelop & deliver Department Master plan and manage the daily results of the work – includes equipment layout, team design/staffing, results managementOptimize the work in the department and drive toward zero defectsAct as a coach and facilitator to the team in areas such as people management, problem solving and decision makingPeople Management—including skill development. career development, performance management, and employee issue resolutionDevelop and implement improvement projects and drive completion through the team, ensuring Operational ExcellenceSet leadership standards for safety, quality, and sanitation - ensure department's complianceEnsures that essential business information and general expectations are clearly communicated and understood by all members of the teamCan lead a multidisciplinary team to successfully execute departmental expectationsBuilds organizational capabilities and eliminates losses using Operational Excellence methodologyRole model our Basic Beliefs, Our Commitment to Each Other, and Emotional Intelligence to build resonanceMaintains a customer focused relationship with Technical Service Organization (TSO)Pillar ownership

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degreeA minimum of 3 years of prior manufacturing operational experienceA minimum of 3 years of people management experience

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

An Engineering degreePrior food or food safety experiencePrior process, food process, or coffee experiencePrior experience managing people and/or teams in a high-performance work environmentPrior training experience
