Manager, Design Center Operations & Visual Merchandising

JOB SUMMARY

The Design Center Operations and Visual Merchandising Manager oversees all operational activities and visual merchandising sets within the design center, partnering with the Director, Store Experience Strategy. This role encompasses managing quarterly visual merchandising sets, physical sample inventory, daily sample processing, and maintaining the overall condition of the design center facility.  This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead and develop the design center visual merchandising team, including Sample Processing Coordinators and the Visual Merchandising Coordinator, fostering a high-productivity environment. Coach and develops team to ensure high productivity.  Collaborate with the Plano Sample Manager on all aspects of sample transportation, delivery, and processing to and from the design center, ensuring alignment with assortment strategies. Plan and execute the merchandising of all visual initiative displays (tables, widespans, in-line) prior to quarterly line finals, ensuring strategic intent and impactful presentation. Utilize merchant calendars to efficiently plan design center activities and meet critical milestone timelines. Serve as the subject matter expert on all samples within the product line. Implement and manage the end-to-end sample management process documentation. Maintain a well-organized, clean, and efficient sample design center facility. Support the visual merchandising sample processing team. Build and maintain strong working relationships with merchant and marketing teams. Promote efficient workflow management, organization, and communication within the team. Proactively identify and resolve problems, adapting to changes as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. 2-3 years of experience in visual merchandising or marketing. This position is required to be on-site at the home office. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, a positive can-do attitude, and strong initiative. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High energy and a sense of urgency. Ability to work independently and lead others.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
