OUR TEAM: As part of our commitment to keeping Promega at the forefront of technological innovation, we are forming the Emerging Technology Team. This team will drive the exploration and integration of cutting-edge technologies like AI, machine learning, RPA, and advanced data science to transform our business operations. By leveraging these technologies, we aim to enhance efficiency, inspire innovation, and deliver greater value to our customers. Our vision is to make this team a center of excellence, where emerging technologies are explored, adopted, and implemented to propel Promega into the future of science and technology. YOUR ROLE: As the Manager of the Emerging Technology Team, you will lead a dynamic group of AI Engineers and Data Scientists. Your primary responsibility will be to drive technological advancements, fostering a culture of innovation and curiosity within the team and with your customers. You will collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for new technologies and ensure their alignment with Promega’s goals. By guiding the team’s efforts and setting clear success metrics, you will help establish Promega as a leader in the adoption and integration of emerging technologies. CORE DUTIES: 1. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AI Engineers and Data Scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. 2. Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for emerging technologies, ensuring that Promega Corporation stays ahead in the industry with their utilization of new technology advancements. 3. Project Management: Oversee the execution of AI, machine learning, robotics process automation and data science initiatives from conception through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery. 4. Innovation Promotion: Act as a champion for emerging technologies within the organization, promoting new tools, methodologies, and solutions that can drive business success. 5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other department leaders across IT and the enterprise, including Operations, Administration, Research & Development, and Marking & Sales to integrate new technologies into broader business processes. Utilize these relationships to understand business challenges and translate them into AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable business impact contribute to the company's overall success 6. Curiosity, Learning & Teaching: Foster a culture of continuous learning and curiosity within the team; advocate for and educate on emerging technology advances to improve existing processes. 7. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with senior leadership and other stakeholders to articulate the value and potential of emerging technologies, securing buy-in for new initiatives. 8. Data Management: Work closely with data management and infrastructure team leaders to ensure data flow is optimized and optimal infrastructure is in place for effective AI deployment. 9. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in technology management roles, with a strong focus on AI, machine learning, and/or data science and 2 years of management or leadership experience. 3. Proficient in risk assessment and analysis methodologies. 4. Experience with contract reviews, vendor and product selections and vendor management. 5. Strong technology budget oversight experience. 6. Strong problem-solving and technical efficiency skills. 7. High energy attitude and enthusiasm for new technologies and their application across a diverse range of business processes. 8. Ability to interact with business users and understand their needs and business operations deeply. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. 9. Experience with educating and inspiring non-technical team members in new technology tools and concepts. 10. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 11. Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. 12. Builds partnerships and works collaboratively across the organization with others to meet shared objectives. 13. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in a business environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. 2. Experience with enterprise regulatory assessments/audits such as GDPR, PCI, etc. 3. Ability to develop, review and/or audit IT standards and procedures. 4. Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, data science, and emerging technologies, with the ability to guide technical teams in these areas. 5. SQL Database & Databricks experience 6. Experience with Atlassian tools: JIRA, Confluence, etc. 7. Experience in Life Sciences industry PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time. 2. Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office applications. 3. Ability to traverse between different locations within the company premises.
