Manager, Enterprise Payroll (Remote)

As a Manager, Enterprise Payroll, your essential job functions will include the following:

Responsible for the overall management, compliance, strategic direction and administration of the payroll functions across the Dealer Tire Family of Companies.Leads the standardization, simplification, and automation of all payroll processes across the Dealer Tire Family of Companies.Provides oversight and direction to all teams to process weekly and bi-weekly multi-state domestic payroll with overall responsibility for all scheduled and non-scheduled payroll runs, including special pays and manual checks.Oversees the execution of payroll and employment tax compliance; collaborates with accounting and finance; identifies opportunities to build efficiencies through strategic collaboration.Ensures accuracy of information entered into the payroll system.Manages year-end process including tax and W2 file reconciliation between HRIS, TPA, and corporate general ledger, including but not limited to taxes, pre- and post-tax health and welfare and retirement plan deductions and state mandated deductions.  Ensures all tax filings including annual W2 distribution are completed accurately and within mandated timelines.Ensures that payroll changes are made in accordance with company policy.Responsible for managing and testing Workday payroll configuration, partnering with external payroll consultant as required.Keeps associates informed of appropriate legislation or tax regulations that affect their pay.Plans daily activities to meet deadlines for payroll processing.Create and distribute annual payroll processing schedule.Communicates payroll policies and procedures to company associates.Creates standard and ad-hoc reports as scheduled or requested by internal customers and to comply with government reporting requirements and other initiatives.Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws and proactively informs business of changes that impact Dealer Tire payroll, workers comp, unemployment, or leaves of absences.Maintains contact remotely and encourages and facilitates proper and complete utilization of HRIS self-service for managers and associates.Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with internal and external customers and vendors. Responds to questions and requests for information in a timely and positive manner.Ensures that all direct reports are trained in all facets of payroll processing and have a thorough understanding of tax filing process.Responsible for creating the annual budget and managing ongoing adherence to the annual budget.

Leadership, Mentoring and Coaching

Provides leadership and coaching to the payroll departments and staff across the Dealer Tire Family of  Companies.Provides development opportunities for direct reports.Communicates operational priorities, objectives, and goals.Facilitates problem solving and collaboration across the Dealer Tire Family of Companies.Completes a performance evaluation of each team member and recommend appropriate action such as promotions, counseling, and termination.Trains, assists, and supports managers and associates in the use of the Workday system with regards to Payroll transactions.In collaboration with leadership, determines staffing needs, interviews potential candidates, and hires associates.

Understands Federal laws as they relate to payrollUnderstands State laws as they relate to payroll in all domestic locations where Dealer Tire conducts business

Thoroughly understands the Dealer Tire handbookAssists department in carrying out various HR programs and procedures as necessary

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Master’s degree desired.6+ years of payroll and tax filing experience required.Workday payroll experience strongly preferred.Experience with expat payroll a plus.Meticulous detail orientation and organization.Excellent communication skills verbal and written.Customer-focused, sense of urgency, well organized, able to organize people, files, time and priorities.Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality.Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to give and receive critical feedback, and otherwise function as an effective member of a team.Eagerly attacks new challenges.Proven ability to keep confidence, and deal with confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and maturity.Strong personal integrity.  Ability to tie personal values to the company’s values and able to apply those in daily decisions and encourage same behavior in others.Proficient in MS Office, advanced in Excel.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The total compensation package may also include commission, bonus or profit sharing. Base Pay Range:

$120,000-$135,000
