Manager, Enterprise Technology Communications
Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) is seeking a communications professional to join a newly created Global Communications Center of Excellence. This team focuses on leading an integrated communications strategy that builds brand and business reputation and maximizes impact among key stakeholders. Reporting to the Associate Director, Digital Workplace Communications, this role requires experience in communications and/or technology. The position supports the execution of day-to-day internal communications around technology-enabled solutions, ensuring message alignment from the company to our global employee audience. Responsibilities include understanding, articulating, and implementing best practices and product enhancements for digital workplace solutions, including the company intranet and various communication tools. This role collaborates closely with members of the Global Technology department and key business stakeholders to coordinate communications strategies for enterprise initiatives, support the deployment of new technologies, support the company’s data governance team, and draft executive communications and other various projects. The Manager will execute tactics aligned with company standards and policies, and conduct audits to support communication partners' timelines. This role will work closely with their supervisor to support communication requests, provide technical input, manage review and approval processes, and monitor project deadlines, escalating risks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a track record of developing and maintaining positive working relationships, supporting team goals, actively listening, and resolving issues to build trust with key internal clients and stakeholders. Success in this role requires excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, a resilient and solution-focused spirit, and the ability to be a self-starter. This position works cross-functionally to support business leaders in delivering results. Communications Planning, Execution, and Measurement (35%) + Stay current with emerging digital workplace technologies and trends to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative. + Ability to apply smart communication best practices to enable speed and effectiveness within the organization. + Provide communication support for major business initiatives including technology application changes, new digital tools, policy changes, intranet best practices, and more. + Help disseminate enterprise-led communications and overarching messaging that increases awareness, understanding and pride across the organization for the company’s technology modernization journey. + Support the develop of high-impact communications plans, campaigns and tactics, through research and effective communications recommendations. + Develop communications materials to help leaders prepare for key employee engagements and meetings (e.g., presentation materials, speeches, talking points). + Recommend resources and tools to enhance communications effectiveness company wide. + Work with the extended communications team to contribute to content strategy and manage the internal communications editorial calendar for the department. + Monitor and track effectiveness of internal communications channels, messaging and programs and partner with leader to package results. Function Specific Communications Initiatives and Support (40%) + Develop and manage the digital workplace strategy to ensure digital tools and technologies align with business goals and objectives. + Manage the product roadmap and enhancements to evolve the company's digital workplace communication tools, driving adoption and addressing critical business communication needs ranging from corporate users to global frontline associates. + Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and IT teams, to identify digital workplace needs and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity. + Provide training and support to employees to ensure effective use of digital tools and technologies, including mobile apps and online portals. + Develop and implement strategic communications for assigned functional area, IT, and other departments as needed. + Deliver program and project management excellence, ensuring multiple projects and initiatives stay on budget and on schedule. + Create communications collateral and strategies that meet and exceed business requirements. + Oversee the accessibility and integrity of digital workplace systems and data, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. Driving Results (25%) + Think broadly and holistically about communications plans from concept to completion. + Identify IT solutions that simplify how associates access critical information to do their jobs more effectively. + Energize and inspire team with new ways to approach defining and delivering communications and branded experiences (e.g., introducing new tools and resources) + Have a focus on delivering against stated program objectives and employ a process of continuous improvement. Education + BA or BS Degree in Communications, Business Management, or Information Technology. Experience + 5+ years of experience managing digital workplace or communication technologies. + Proven experience delivering effective communications that align with strategies, on time, and on budget. + Timeshare/hospitality/lodging industry experience is a plus. + Prior experience with communication to hourly/non-tethered workforce is a plus.
