About the Role: Callen-Lorde is seeking a dedicated Manager of Facilities Operations to oversee the day-to-day operations of custodial, grounds, and building maintenance activities across all our sites. Working closely with the Director of Facilities, the Manager will develop and implement policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. This role is responsible for supervising staff, responding to service requests, coordinating maintenance and repairs, and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment. Key Responsibilities: As a Manager of Facilities Operations, your responsibilities will include: + Facility Maintenance & Operations:Oversee the care and upkeep of buildings, lease spaces, and facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing. + Staff Supervision:Schedule, assign, review, and manage the work of custodial, grounds, and maintenance staff to ensure high-quality service. + Policy & Process Administration:Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures to enhance facilities operations. + Vendor & Contractor Management:Work closely with vendors, engineers, and architects to coordinate repairs, remodels, and capital projects. + Service Coordination:Respond to inquiries and service requests from Callen-Lorde departments, ensuring timely and effective resolutions. + Project Support:Assist the Facilities Operations Director in managing minor and major capital projects, from planning to execution. + Safety & Compliance:Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and organizational standards across all facilities. + Standards Development:Collaborate with the Director to establish and update Callen-Lorde’s facilities standards as needed. Work Schedule: This is a full-time position with evening hours. Qualifications Education, Experience + Bachelor’s Degree Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Administration, or a related building construction field and/or relevant experience required + Five years’ experience with managing building operations of custodial, grounds, and maintenance + Three plus years of supervisory experience + Current Fire Life Safety Director certificate or obtain within 6 months of hire. + Experience managing facilities in a healthcare setting preferred Desired Characteristics, Skills + Excellent communication and customer service skills along with helpful, can-do attitude + Required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds + Excellent organizational skills, including ability to create effective tracking/tickler systems for routine inspection and repair issues + Ability to work with diverse communities + Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks, and excellent attention to detail. + Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred + Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde
