The University of Miami/UHealth has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Finance Net Revenue Valuation.
CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Finance Net Revenue Valuation oversees and reviews all financial accounting activities related to patient net revenue valuation for hospital and physician services. This role is focused on all aspects of patient revenue reporting including reconciliation from the EMR to the ERP, proper recording, and classification in accordance with GAAP, policies and procedures for reserves, monthly journal entries and routine analysis to be able to communicate monthly results to leadership. This individual is responsible to ensure clearly designed and efficient business processes. Administration of personnel and departmental operations are required to ensure efficiency and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Timely and accurate reporting of all patient net revenue activities and appropriate valuation in accordance with ASC 606 and related accounting guidance in accordance with the monthly financial statement close process.
Prepares analyses and reviews financial results for accuracy in conjunction with the monthly financial statement close and prepares schedules as required for external and internal auditors.
Provides financial oversight of actual results to plan with a focus on identifying opportunities for improvements and efficiencies to support current goals and objectives.
Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance
Certification and Licensing:
CPA preferred
Experience:
Minimum 7+ years equivalent experience in a provider/hospital setting with net revenue/accounts receivable valuation, preferably with EPIC EMR in a single business office setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, revenue cycle operations, and physician and hospital billing.Must be able to clearly articulate in writing and communication accounting methodology in accordance with ASC 606 and healthcare industry accounting guide and other applicable authoritative guidanceAbility to utilize, document and manage large data sets and work effectively with the EMR IT group for any ad-hoc reporting.Ability to establish department goals, and objectives.Ability to effectively utilize and analyze large sets of data for use in providing analytical insights and in explaining monthly variances in conjunction with month end financial close expectations.Department Specific Functions
