Manager, Finance - Universal Horror Unleashed
Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. You will find yourself working in dark environments around special effects including strobe lights, fog, artificial smells, and more. The working hours will be unique, typically spanning over late evenings/nights and weekends (holidays included). JOB SUMMARY: Leads the financial function in support of the Universal Horror Unleashed business including oversight of budget tracking, monthly forecasting, financial reporting, vendor payment management and general financial support. Leads financial reviews with operating partners and executive leadership. JOB RESPONSIBILILITIES: + Partners with Universal Horror Unleashed leadership to lead tracking and forecasting of monthly operating revenue and cost to develop annual operating plan. Validates and submits regular updates to the annual operating plan with the corporate financial planning deliverables due to the New Ventures Corporate Finance team. Leverages learnings from new business model to accurately forecast annual operating plan. + Reviews and analyzes daily flash reporting. Creates ad hoc analytics to assist in supporting business needs including but not limited to sales/program analysis, optimization, competitive industry, tracking analysis, and strategic analysis requested by the business. Ensures financial analysis is communicated to operational partners by providing meaningful recommendations. + Oversees and executes month-end financial close processes including reviewing and approving various journal entries, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment. Preparing, or reviewing reports at various levels of the business for actuals, documenting variance explanations and reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations. + Presents analytical materials and participates in meetings with Operators and/or Executive leadership and provides support to develop/execute financial plans. Identifies opportunities and maintains an active relationship with local leadership and New Ventures Corporate Finance team. + Oversees vendor setup and invoice payment management to ensure vendor relationships are maintained and optimized to meet operational business needs. + Manages direct reports by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, career development, and performance management. Oversees development and maintenance of department SOP documentation for onboarding and department business continuity initiatives. + Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. + Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required. + Strong knowledge of forecasting, analytical thinking, and budgeting. + Advanced Excel skills, strong planning and scheduling, and financial planning. + Proficient knowledge of accounting principles and concepts. + Ability to communicate clearly and present financial recommendations to an executive level. + Must possess an entrepreneurial focus, collaboration, and proactive mindset. + Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. + Consistent attendance is a job requirement. EDUCATION: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred. EXPERIENCE: + 5+ years of finance/accounting experience is required, 3+ years of supervisory experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
