Manager, Fleet - Parts/Warranty

Have a mechanical aptitude and understand different types of maintenance on commercial vehicles Have a high proficiency for analyzing/mining data and creating Microsoft Excel documents as well as the utilization of other Microsoft Office Suite programs Preferably have a very broad knowledge of WM Fleet processes, procedures, and vehicles

 

Work Location:

Remote - Employees must live within 50 miles of a WM facility within the US.

 

Hours of Operation:

Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM Central Standard Time



I. Job Summary 
Based out of the Corporate Office, the Fleet Manager � Parts/Warranty will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company�s parts master providing the most efficient use of part identification and procurement compliance. This will include a renewed emphasis on replacement parts warranty and Fleet specified parts used. 

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Works to improve the Parts/Warranty management systems and processes. 
  Analyze, streamline and synchronize the current parts master with WM systems. Manage approval of all parts master adds, reduce/remove obsolescence and create comprehensive cross reference matrix to enable quality data analysis. 
  Reviews warranty data, understands failure modes, and develops corrective action plans for high failure rate components. 
  Develops comprehensive cost-effective warranties for Waste Management. 
  Develops processes to help WM sites identify warranty opportunities within maintenance systems. 
  Builds and implements a nationwide Warranty Recovery Training Program directed toward Fleet Managers and Technicians. 
  Work with the technical teams and Fleet Procurement teams to develop an automated accurate asset warranty coverage profile for the WM assets that will assist the WM Sites to understand and maximize recovery 
  Work with the OEM and WM Fleet Managers to review and discuss OEM denied direct submit claims and the payment potential for denied claims. Assist Fleet Managers in discussions with local OEM dealers on warranty issues. 
  Sets warranty recovery goals applicable to all sites based on equipment age and replacement parts usage. 
  Builds a warranty calculator to assist warranty budgeting at the site level. 
  Collects monthly and quarterly warranty recovery data and creates reports for WM Field, Senior Management at the Corporate, Tier, Area and BU levels. 
  Attends OEM warranty training for certification and to enter warranty claims on behalf of Waste Management. 
  Provides purchase recommendations to WM Director of Equipment Performance based on the level and quality of warranty and goodwill support from chassis and body OEM�s.

IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience 
 

Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience. 
  Experience: Seven (7) to ten (10) years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement). 
 

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements 
 

Preferred: PMI Certification 
  Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Experience (Green Belt or higher) 
 

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities 
 

Microsoft Office knowledge. 
  Self-Starter with strong communication skills with ability to lead and influence others. 
  Working financial knowledge. 
  Process oriented Team Builder.

  Travel is required and may vary 50% � 90% based on the assigned project requirements.   

The expected base pay range for this position across the US is $88,000 - $110,000/yearly.
This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may 
be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, 
qualifications, and work location.
