Faculty Rank or Job Title Manager, Front of House, Nutter Center Job Category: Administrative (exempt/non-exempt) Department Nutter Center EEO number: 23P311 Position FTE 100% Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate $50,000 Salary Band: S04 Job Summary/Basic Function: This position provides leadership in representing all front of house duties for events occurring at the Wright State University Nutter Center while providing support, assistance and backup to the day-to-day Box Office and Facilities operations within the building.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field or comparable work experience and three years ticketing, front of house, or facilities operations experience or Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field with one year relevant experience. Strong knowledge of customer service, computer operations, and accounting/cash management procedures. Understanding of ticketing systems such as Ticketmaster Host and Archtics. Ability to provide leadership, engage in positive interaction with staff and guests, prioritize, organize, motivate staff, problem solve, delegate, follow-up, communicate and diffuse possibly volatile situations with tact. Ability to communicate respectfully with diplomacy across all levels of business is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.). Ability to work evening and weekend hours, based on the needs of daily business.
Preferred Qualifications Five years of experience in ticket sales or front of house operations. Essential Functions and percent of time: Front of House Duties – 60% Serve as the main Ticketing contact for selected events at the venue, and provide support for all others • Hire, direct, coordinate, and manage front of house contracted personnel (parking attendants, ushers, ticket takers, and guest services) for all events. Act as the liaison between Nutter Center management and all front of house event staff, as well as with the university’s contracted staffing provider. Develop strong working relationships with promoters, ticketing and athletics staff, guests, and affiliated partners. Collaborate with internal departments and external event personnel to ensure all ticketing needs are addressed. Organize and oversee nightly Box Office operations during selected events (Ticket Sales, Will Call, Ticketing Scanning, etc.). Ensure Ticketing department delivers exceptional customer service to all guests and works proactively to resolve any issues that arise.
Facilities/Operations/Berry Room Planning – 25% Coordinate, set-up/tear down, organize a wide variety of events including conferences, meetings, luncheons, trade-shows, and concerts. Act as an event coordinator at these events. Propose effective layouts for events and coordinate event logistics. Communicate with vendors, clients, and staff to ensure successful organization of events at the internal and external level. Collaborate with contracts and billing of events. Assist with various setups, tear downs and room prep throughout the building.
Box Office Duties – 10% Assist internal and external staff, as necessary, with event programming, reporting, ticket holds and other ticketing details. Work with Marketing and Facilities Operations to set up events, place holds, process orders, and release tickets in a timely fashion. Assist with the monitoring of all ticket inventory. Assist box office staff to ensure ADA seating. Ensure ADA Compliant Ticketing Practices. Ensure Box Office staff adheres to university’s cash handling policies and procedures.
