THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Produce FSQA Manager, you will help to ensure that all fresh produce ingredients for Chipotle restaurants in the U.S. and Canada are grown, harvested, packed, and processed in accordance with Chipotle Food Safety and Quality standards.  This position requires 50-60% travel to agricultural areas throughout the United States and on occasion, internationally. Along with the Sr. Manager, develop and lead 2nd party audit program, create strategies to reduce risks at each node of the produce supply chain. This person will also mentor and train analysts, lead and maintain internal Chipotle produce food safety and quality programs, mitigate quality issues, and build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Conduct routine visits to produce supplier operations and assist in improving supplier programs.Develop and calibrate 2nd party audit programs.Proactively work with suppliers to reduce quality issues thus improving guest and restaurant team member experience.Stay abreast with current trends in the produce industry and provide detailed recommendations pertaining to CMG produce and procedures to mitigate risk.Assist Sr. Manager to cross train analysts, playing a critical role in making the produce team a well-rounded team and focused team.Lead Supplier Scorecard ProgramHold analysts accountable for keeping internal programs updated (lGFSI List, restaurant food quality reporting trends, Approved Master Supplier List, CAPA, FSVP and Import Alert Updates, DC Inspection Protocols, Risk Assessments, and others as assigned)Proactively identify potential trends in quality issues based on historical data and weather patterns, engage with suppliers and DCs to proactively mitigate quality issues by providing actionable data.Assists on report generation, KPI creation, and presentations for the team.

 WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Food Microbiology or related technical field required, Master’s degree preferred.Minimum 5 years’ experience in food/agriculture industry performing activities directly related to food safety (Auditing, quality inspections, FSQA initiatives, development and implementation of new programs, etc.)Strategic thinker, ability to navigate difficult conversations, relationship building with internal and external stakeholders, mentor team members, ability to identify gaps in current programs and elevate the programs to the next level.Self-starter, familiar with major produce suppliers and DCs in MX and USA, have existing relationship with industry professionals and professional groups such as LGMA, etc…Familiar working with FDA, USDA, State and local agencies. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferredProven ability to develop and implement programs that improve food safety and quality monitoring.Ability to analyze data, perform statistical analysis, proficient in MS Office

PAY TRANSPARENCY

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $98,000.00–$132,500.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
