Job Description

The Manager, Global Security Risk Management will play a highly visible role in AbbVie by working closely with the Senior Director, Crisis Management & Business Resilience and cross-functional leaders to enhance the company's preparedness in mitigating risks that may impact the enterprise. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that AbbVie can effectively meet its overall business objectives while minimizing potential security risks.

Responsibilities:

Identify and assess new and evolving risks that may impact AbbVie's business strategy, especially internationally.Provide subject matter expertise on the risks associated with doing business in higher-risk countries, delivering insights and recommendations to senior management.Drive collaboration between Global Security functions (Regional Security, Protective Services, Global Product Protection/Supply Chain Security, Business Risk Intelligence, etc.) and cross-functional leaders at the Vice President level to assess critical risks and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans.Stay up to date with geopolitical developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes that may impact AbbVie's risk landscape.Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration on risk management initiatives.Develop security risk training and awareness programs for employees to promote a risk-aware culture within the organization.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and adjust strategies, as necessary.Provide subject matter expertise to business units on risk-related matters, including security considerations for new partnerships or acquisitions.Collaborate with external partners and industry associations to stay informed about best practices and emerging risks.
 
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in international relations, security studies, risk management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in security, risk management, or a related field. Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry preferred.Proven experience in identifying and assessing security risks, developing risk mitigation strategies, and leading the implementation of risk management programs. Experience implementing risk management tools/software preferred.Foreign country/cultural exposure preferred (e.g., lived, worked, or studied abroad). Specialization in the risks associated with doing business in China is desirable.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and obtain buy-in for actionable recommendations.Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management.Comfortable with ambiguity, with the ability to lead and implement change while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
