40Summary:
The Healthcare Analytics Manager is responsible for designing, managing, and treating data as a product to support System Planning and Healthcare Analytics departments as well as other departments across the system. In alignment with the organization's promise—" Knowing every child’s life is sacred, and we promise to improve the well-being of every child in our care and our communities"—this role ensures data solutions are reliable, governed, and scalable to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. The manager must have a deep understanding of healthcare data architecture, data engineering, and healthcare EHR systems to curate data products that directly contribute to improving the well-being of children and communities. The manager will be responsible for the overall guidance and structure for creating and maintaining data solutions at Cook Children’s Health Care System as well as managing a team of data analysts who will help with data tasks and service line analysis to drive operational improvements. This manager will have knowledge of the business and be familiar with a vertically integrated healthcare system. This knowledge will drive the development and design of the data products for the teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, data science, computer science, or a related field (Master’s degree strongly preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in data product management, healthcare data analytics, data engineering, or a related role, with a track record of mentoring staff.
Strong understanding of healthcare systems, including inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory service lines, and how data flows through these areas, particularly within Epic and other healthcare systems.
Expertise in data architecture, data engineering, and product management principles, with experience curating and managing data assets as scalable and reliable products.
Proficiency in data analytics tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, and familiarity with Epic’s reporting tools and data integration processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive adoption of data products across diverse teams.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and experience ensuring data privacy and security
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Epic Data Certification: Example - Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model Certification or equivalent Required
