**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Assist the Director in managing departmental operations and maintaining day-to-day activities across various modalities.
+ Oversee charge processing procedures and personnel in the RIS.
+ Act as a resource for protocol development and training programs.
+ Coordinate quality control activities and resolve any arising issues.
+ Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
+ Manage timekeeping in Kronos and handle MRS submissions.
+ Ensure financial, operational, volume, and quality accountability for the department.
+ Maintain job descriptions, evaluations, and orientation processes.
+ Conduct monthly staff meetings and communicate updates on processes and changes.
+ Handle hiring, dismissal, employee reviews, and training programs.
+ Interact with vendors and service providers to maintain high-quality equipment.
+ Address complaints, problems, and issues, taking corrective action as needed.
+ Manage multiple projects, set priorities, and enhance productivity and patient satisfaction.
+ Oversee the maintenance and integrity of the modality CDM and stay updated on CPT guidelines.
+ Uphold an atmosphere of caring and support, embodying UPMC core values.
+ Interview, select, orient, evaluate, schedule, counsel, and discipline assigned personnel.
+ Participate in preparations with the DOH and TJC.

+ Bachelor's Degree is required.
+ 5 years of experience in a radiology discipline with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity is required.
+ Completion of satisfactory formal training in a radiology related program accredited by the ARRT or NMTCB, i.e. Radiology or Nuclear Medicine.
+ Must attend continuing education programs and maintain an active registry status.
**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
Must possess a current Registry in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, or MRI (ARRT or RDMS), or NMTC.
+ ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
