The Finance & Risk Management department is seeking a Manager, Insurance & Construction Risk with a focus on risk mitigation to lead and manage critical risk management programs within the organization. This role is essential to ensuring the airport’s operations are protected by managing a variety of risks, including construction-related risks, workers' compensation, and property damage. The individual in this position will oversee the development and implementation of strategies to assess and mitigate potential losses, playing a key role in maintaining the smooth and safe operation of the airport.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and expertise in risk management, with experience managing both operational and construction risks. They will be adept at navigating complex insurance negotiations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and leading a team to achieve high standards of risk mitigation. This position offers the chance to work with a wide range of stakeholders, from legal teams to insurance carriers, and provides a dynamic environment where professionals can make a tangible impact by directly influencing the safety and continuity of operations at one of the world’s busiest single-runway airports.
What You’ll Do:
Staff Management: Lead and oversee the work of assigned staff, ensuring that work plans align with the department’s goals. Develop, implement, and monitor these plans to achieve performance measures. Performance Evaluation: Set performance expectations and development goals for staff. Regularly assess performance, provide coaching for improvement, and recognize achievements with rewards and compensation. Risk Management Services: Provide expert risk management services to internal and external stakeholders. Assess and manage risks, including construction, workers’ compensation, property damage, and operational risks. Lead the development and implementation of programs to control and reduce risks in construction. Insurance Compliance: Ensure that the Authority’s insurance requirements are met. Oversee staff who review and recommend the appropriate insurance coverage, limits, and self-insured retention levels. Insurance Negotiations: Lead insurance negotiations with brokers and carriers. Analyze data for insurance renewals, manage relationships with brokers and carriers, and review claims as part of the process. Legislation & Policy Analysis: Stay updated on risk management legislation and evaluate how it impacts the Authority. Recommend necessary policy and procedural improvements and keep track of trends in the industry.The Skills You Need:
